Juan (John) Flores

Born in New York, NY. My family moved to Venezuela when I was four. Ever since I could remember I have been swimming, diving, surfing, paddling, and body surfing in the warm Mar Caribe. I always had an artistic/design oriented tendency but at the time I foregoed the arts for a more conventional bill paying career.

I returned to the United States in 1980 to attend graduate school at the University of California, Berkeley. After working for the University and developing award winning guideline to protect sunlight in downtown San Francisco (ever wondered why SF highrises after the 1980's have a tapered shape?) I moved to Encinitas.

Now, semi retired from real work, I paint.
